I love Kay Amin.

This movie was much better than I had expected. Although I never met Idi Amin, I thought Forest Whitaker's portrayal of him will at the least earn him an Oscar Nomination. Everyone knows the man turned into a butcher, but I was glad it did not dominate the storyline.
It seems like a timeless story. Give a man complete control of an African nation and you eventually end up with a dicator who slaughters 100s of thousands of his people. Will they ever get it right there?
I have to say I do not ever think I have seen a more perfect ass than that of the actress playing Kay Amin. When I saw her laying on her stomach, naked next to Dr. Garrigan, I thought "Who could blame him for sleeping with one of the wives of a brutal dictator?" It is a work of art. I do not care if that part of the story is made up.
The story moved along quite nicely. I was not bored with it at all. Even though it was two hours long, it did not drag along at all.
I am wondering if I am the only one who got the point that Dr. Garrigan did not scream in the duty free shop at the end of the movie. If you are wondering, the point was he had no evil in him.
I reccomend this movie very much. (If you are squeamish, close your eyes during the duty free scene!) |
