It is delightful to see Woody Allen back in his typical style where his character is an old witty fellow.The dialogue between Johannson and Allen are extremly funny.Their repartee is fun(both of them were in Match Point also directed by Allen),with a hint of improvisation.
Scarlet Johannson,Woody Allen and Hugh Jackman were terrific in this movie but the plot had a few holes in it.To enjoy the movie,you have to ignore the plot and take it easy.
Being accustomed to seeing Johannson play bombshells in Match Point,The Prestige and The Black Dahlia,it is refreshsing to see her in a role that doesn't focus on her sex appeal.Her character was bookish,bumbling and lovably awkward.Jackman was looking dreamy in this movie.
Overall,Scoop is a comedy that is light as air,but full of fun. |
