ok, with 2 tweener age girls, 10 and 12, you know I am going to be seeing this movie, so i got it out of the way right away seeing it Friday night. My younger girl brought a friend and they got snacks while i went into the theater and found seats. Boy was that awkward. It was a 5:15 show and the theater was overun by mainly 10-16 yr old girls. It seemed they were all looking at me like "who is this perv old man coming to this movie by himself" I found seats and kept looking over my shoulder looking for the girls to arrive so I could relax and feel "that is was appropriate" I had my kids, that gave me the right to be there and not stared at like i was some loser.
Anyhow, movie turned out quite good. 1st half was definatly funnier. I was pleasantly surprised, I laughed more than some of the kids around me They were to busy "oohing and awhing" over Amanda's roomate.
Amanda's attempt to "try" to pull of being a guy was well done. Yes, she doesnt look like a guy or smile like a guy, but I dont think they were aiming for completely making her masculine. IN the storyline it was all all kind of hastily put together idea, so it was like they did the best they could type of deal and that is what made the whole act come off quite hilarious at times.
As a middle aged adult, I give this movie 2 thumbs up, the whole family can see it, very slight language issue 1-2 times, something of course they could have left out and it would'nt have changed a thing, but hollywood seems to think you have to drop the sh%t word or b$%tch word a few times to seem "cool" to the kids.
Go see it, don't expect an oscar type caliber movie, relax, get your popcorn, and you should enjoy |
