Refreshing and easy-going!

OK, alright-- the plot of the movie may not be super exciting but actually, the movie as a whole delivers quite well for a romantic comedy!
The acting is great- James McAvoy has this unique charm that I can't quite pin down- some sort of high energy combined with solid acting. The supporting actors are also quite alright.
The story is easy-going. It is a school story- so if you don't like anything that may involve intellectual jokes, don't go to it. But to be honest, I found the story quite refreshing. Here is one movie in which all of the characters are still alive at the end of the movie-- and I call that a bonus. When most movies are based on violence (OK- that is exciting but to a degree), I guess that an easy-going movie that doesn't star popular Hollywood actors can not compete for box office sales in the States. But I think that if you go to it, you'll find it surprisingly refreshing! |
