Fateless gives hope

I just arrived back from a screening of the movie fateless. The movie was the most intense movie that i have ever seen. I did not see the entire movie because of its intensity and i could not take anymore because of it and left. The feeling i had after leaving was guilt. guilt that im here today, alive, happy and healthy. While exaclty 61 years ago to this date, Prisoners from Auschwitz-Birkenau were liberated by the Red Army. I myself have a family member that was liberated that day from the camp and have heard his story and it connects very well to the story of "fateless". Both my family member and the character were at the same age and both of them had a person to look after them. without this person who looked after my family member, he surely would have died, just like in the movie. After the movie at dinner, i stared at my plate and just said thanks, thanks that im able to eat off my plate without worrying about the next day, if i would live to the it. And when i came out of this movie, it hit me. Why a jewish state is needed so badly for the jews. So they will be able to have a place that every jew will not be denied from and in order to have apromise, that nothing like the holocaust will ever happen again. I advise anyone who can to see this movie, in order to wake you up and see that life is really worht a lot and to never take it for granted. |
