The entire movie was filmed on a stage with minimal props which requires you to actively use your imagination from beginning to end. You had to imagine doors, barns, houses, etc. as you heard some of the sounds these objects would normally make. In addition, you continue to wonder why free people would continue to act like slaves 70 years after they were freed. The plot is manipulated by gangsters, a plantation environment, race relations, and kidnapping that uncannily work together to make the story interesting. There are some very strong and truthful messages throughout this movie. The real surprise and profound message is in the last 10 minutes of the movie. Diabolical!! I highly recommend this movie for adults over 16. |
