Haunting Sequel to "Dogville"
by Matthew (movies profile)
Feb 9, 2006
I found "Dogville" to be one of the most brilliant and innovative films I have ever seen. While "Manderlay" is not quite the masterpiece it's predecessor was, it is still morally thought-provoking and powerfully told. Lars von Trier confronts us with incendiary, provokative themes that stimulate the mind and will not soon be forgotten. His symbolic condemnation of the Iraq war is especially sobering. |
