Fascinating movie
by Sun Devil (movies profile)
Aug 30, 2008
Actually, Roger Ebert reviewed this movie and liked it very much. It is provocative. It was written to make to you think about its theme more than entertain you. Think of "Our Town". Bare bones sets; it is a large stage play as a movie. The actors question their beliefs and ask you to question your beliefs about slavry; about Blacks and the nature of Black and White relations. In a sense this is more like reading a book than watching a movie. |
