A "must see" for dog lovers

As a proud parent of two gorgeous Siberian Huskies (ages 9 & 1.4), I am head-over-heels in love with this movie. The story-line is excellent, hence the A+. The A for the acting is primarily for the dogs, although I do have a soft spot for Bruce Greenwood. The visuals were AMAZING (although not entirely realistic considering winter in Antartica doesn't include the sun, but that's ok because it's a Hollywood movie). My niece, (age 6 who lives with me and my dogs) accompanied me to this movie. She did ok with everything until the leopard seal materialized out of the orca; that scene was a bit much for a 6 year old, but she recoved fine, and spoke only in "dog" all the way home from the theater. This movie affirmed something that I have known for the past 7 years: Siberians are one of the most enjoyable, beautiful, loving, loyal & intelligent breeds around & make wonderful pets FOR SOME. I hope that when folks see this movie that they do not automatically assume that this luxuriously coated canine is for them without doing some intense homework. Huskies are not for "clean freaks", or for those with a house full of beautiful carpet. (Thank Heaven for ceramic tile & bleach)
Did you notice how the "kids" were chained whenever they were out of Jeremy's presence? Huskies are not the "jog with your dog in the park off-leash" kind of breed. You should see what my boys can do to a 9 pack of Charmin in less than 30 minutes if I turn my back. They need attention & exercise. They are pack animals and need to be included as much as possible in your family's "pack" activities.

Bottom line: Great Movie, Great Breed, just don't run out and buy/adopt the first husky you see after watching this movie.
