Those three words can describe few movies that come out of Hollywood. I was blessed with the opportunity to screen this movie on Wednesday, and I was deeply moved by its message. This film takes a very personal view of a tragedy, yet leads to audience to a deeper understanding of both sides involved. It shows the story of grace and forgiveness at its most powerful, and humankind at both its worst and best.
On the technical side, the acting was good considering its lack of star power, the visuals were impressive, and it made for an entertaining movie. My only gripe was the lack of emphasis on the relationship between the tribe and the women and children missionaries. While the story of the first missionaries was very important, so much time was spent on it that the story of how their wives and children went back and eventually connected to the tribe, as well as the son's relationship to the man who killed his father, seemed rushed.
See this movie. You will walk out of it with the desire to love and touch people like you never have before |
