This is the first movie I have seen that dealt with drug abuse that I was able to enjoy. I enjoyed it because the characters interacted with each other and the force the existed between them brough them to the edge and they turned back and reached for life rather than self destruction. Ryan Gosling's performance was touching, only an ACTOR, not a movie star could have brought to this film the sensitivity and humor he was able convey. The scene where he and his student confront each other during an exchange of money for drugs was amazing. I just held my breath and was unable to believe what I was seeing. A must see! |
