David Lynch has always been a pioneer in experimental film making. If you know his body of work, especially his Short Films pre-Eraserhead, You will appreciate and love Inland Empire.

Inland Empire started out as a series of experimental shorts shot with a Sony PD150 mini dv cam. Somewhere along the line he decided that these shorts were actually part of a bigger vision and it turned into a feature film.

Inland Empire is a journey of a lost soul who suffered a great loss and is trying to find her way to salvation through random memories and surreal fantasies.

The film is dark, hypnotic and sometimes humerous.
All of the performances are incredibly strong. The film itself has a very eerie quality to it, due much to the camera it was shot with.

The film is a head trip. If you see it (and I highly reccomend you see it in a theater), go into the theater with no expectations and let yourself go. Keep an open mind and don't ponder on what this film is about, You'll figure that out soon enough. Let the vision and soundscapes that mr Lynch created, carry you to another world.
