I have mixed feelings about this particular movie, to be quite frank with you. There are two types of horror films--one whose main goal is to terrorize the audience with heart pounding effects and chilling storyline leaving them all with sweaty palms and dry mouths. Then there are the horror films whose main object is to nauseate the audience by relying heavily on an overabundance of blood, gore, and sadistic psychosis. This film happened to be the latter of the two.

The story begins with a trio of undersexed trade student buffoons who are supposed to be backpacking through European countries on a school assignment to tell about their
experience, but it soon turns out to be nothing other than an overseas booty call as they desparately chase anything resembling the female species. The 3 stars of this show actually were quite entertaining, to say the least--you have the suave smoothe talker who can attract the ladies with just the perfect seductive line, the half witted oaf whose expertise is saying the wrong thing at the wrong time and then wondering why he can't ever get laid, then your class clown who has a wisecrack for every angle of the movie.

At any rate, in their desparation to find themselves a piece of "action" they entrust a total stranger, who tells them of a proverbial hostel heaven of luscious vixens who completely fall for any male regardless of appearance, social status, or nationality. Rather than attempt to apply the principle of "If it sounds too good, it most likely is," this posse of dullards grab onto their erections and rush for the next train to the hostel where they hope to score all the sex they desire.

When they do find this hostel the stranger spoke of and check in, they discover on its face that it does appear to be exactly as described. For the next 30 mins or so, it's nothing but plenty of boobs, asses, thongs, and an abundance of sex, sex, sex. Unfortunately, for the 3 jackwallies in heat, they later discover that these sweet innocent ladies sold them to an underground torture camp full of psychopaths with EXTREME mental issues. From there on, the movie brings on the blood, gore, and human viscera plentiful. There were points in the movie where I almost vomited, it was so extreme. Don't worry, I won't include any spoilers, and just move to the summary.

If blood and gore is your thing, I say this movie is for you. However, my idea of a horror film is not to be forced to utilize my popcorn bucket as a sick pail. Furthermore, this movie relied a bit too much on X rated scenes in the first half, and that subtracted away from the suspence. Tarantino needs to make up his mind--does he want a horror flick, or a porn flick?

It's a good movie more or less, but ease up on the blood and gore...focus more on terrorizing the audience, not seeing how many of them have to rush for the restroom.
