This movie is enjoyable by anyone who understands Dave Chappelle's humor. The problem that many people run into is that this movie is not pure comedy, and that's where they lose sight of the underlying themes. The movie is named Block Party not because Chappelle randomly chose it, but because it is a party, and a party isn't stand up comedy. If some of the people who gave this bad reviews understood his message, they wouldn't have thought the movie was all laughs. |
