Oh my god. This movie was horrible. DO NOT BELEIVE ANY OF THESE A+ REVIEWS! I watched this on opening night with a few friends not knowing what to expect because I had never heard of the movie before. If you think about watching this movie just close your eyes, put a handful of poop in your mouth, and chew chew chew for 90 minutes. You'll get the same effect as if you had watched the movie.
Korean, eh? Koreans who write in CHINESE and are reincarnated as white people that JOURNALS THAT THEY WRITE CHINESE IN. There was a flashback when they were explaining the story taking place in Korea where the old guru guy had a CHINESE look to him (ie the Kill Bill 2 old chinese guy long beard thing) and they ripped off of the way that the Chinese "fly" in movies like Crouching Tiger. There were 2 things that were Korean in this steaming pile of crap passed off as a film. 1)Koreans speaking Korean and 2)The Korean folk song that plays in the end.
The visuals were hit and miss. Some done well, some that just should never have been. Giant serpent-like creature crawling all over a hospital and not one bit of it moves? THAT IS CACA!
The acting was god awful. The lines were delivered without giving any feel to the characters. Jet Li can act like he took a bullet better than one of the main characters in this film. Don't beleive me? Watch Kiss Of The Dragon and then watch this film. It's like the actor totally FORGOT THAT THERE WAS A FRIGGIN BULLET INSIDE OF HIM THAT SHOULD HAVE STOPPED HIM FROM DOING NEARLY ANYTHING.
The story had potential. HAD potential, as in past tense before the creative staff decided that they hated people and wanted to steal their money. Of course it had the token black guy, though. No movie is complete without a token black guy to make a few funny remarks and push that stereotype.
The movie flowed... right into the this-should-have- gone-straight-to-dvd direction.
Save your money. If you got a small boy that likes action scenes, they might like this flick. Just remember to booze up first. BOOZE UP HEAVILY.
