World food prices went up due to the rise in oil prices. But no food crop is the answer. Algae is the answer. Charlie Trafford is growing algae and converting it to biodiesel at his home for a dollar a gallon equivalent. Velcent has closed loop algae bioreactors that produce 100,000 gallons per acre. Compare that to 18 gallons per acre for corn. Combine algae biodiesel with a 113 mpg car like the Avion and you have just put a stake thru OPEC's heart. OPEC is dead! Long Live the Algae!! |
