Albert Brooks's latest movie, Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World, could have been funny and interesting if Brooks actually went to the Muslim world and not to India (Asia) and to a country that is almost 85% HINDU (and the turban wearing folks were Sikhs also not Muslims).
Why not go to Indonesia (the largest Muslim country with over 300 million which just happen to be "Chinese" looking as is Malaysia and all the central Asian "stan" countries or heck China itself with over 40 million Chinese
Muslims) or really to the Arab World? Even Israel would be a better choice since they have a much higher percentage of Muslims than does India? Hey I read that France has over 10% Muslims as well!
This is like coming to America to study the African world because the same percentage of African Americans live here as the percentage Muslims in India! Also there are more Blacks in the US then in many African countries.
In India the Hindu culture dominates plus there is humor and entertainment in India....dah it has Bollywood the biggest movie making industry in the world!
This movie just adds to the ignorance of our country.... |
