They actually explain why he went to India at the start of the movie, so to complain about it either means you didn't see the movie, or you can't follow things that are carefully explained to you. The movie was more about American ignorance than it was about stereotyping the Muslim world, but all of it is really just set ups for comedy and nothing more. Albert Brooks was funny, and most of the jokes in the film were at his expense. He plays himself, so he certainly takes much more than he dishes out. It is certainly an "Albert Brooks Movie", and if you don't like his humor, this one isn't much different than other films he has done as far as the tone and style of delivery. |
