Great movie! The story is about a bank robbery that is not all that is seems, especially since the bank robbers leave without taking a dime from the safe or the safety deposit boxes. Unlike Inside Man where most of the movie is the bank robbery itself, this movie is more about finding the robbers and figuring out their real motives. The movie has tons of shooting, a few bombs, flying chopper and the works. If you like action movies with a very good story line, this is the movie for you!
Wesley Snipes plays the bad guy role to perfection. Smooth, not too charming, and always two steps ahead of the game. It's a villain that has a lot more character than your average Hollywood bad guy, and his plans are well thought out and executed to perfection. Jason Statham turns in a solid performance as the good cop that is trying to rebuild his torn reputation after being forced to come out of suspension (because of a botched hostage situation 2 months ago). His side kick is Ryan Phillippe, a detective with a legendary father and first day on the job (much like on Training Day).
I would recommend the movie to all action lovers and people who like twisting story lines, because the ending of this one will surely have you saying: 'Now there is a something different from your everyday Hollywood fare...' |
