Why does everything have to make sense? Why does everything have to be new and different? Sure, this movie may have copied Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but why does that make it bad? It cracked me up. It cracked up the two grown women who sat behind me. (And yes, they were really weird, but so what?) And I honestly can't fathom how anyone can not adore Dustin Hoffman's performance in this film. He was one of the funniest people I've ever seen. The lisp was inspired. This movie left me happy and delighted and youthful. It was fantastic. Natalie Portman's performance was charming, and her chemistry with Hoffman was verifiably perfect. No matter what people say, this movie was pretty amazing. And the boy with the hats was my favorite person of the day. And I loved how they called the guy Mutant. So funny. |
