Ok, here are the good things. That man, that man, that man that likes her is the FINEST, SWEETEST Nigerian man I have ever seen, heard of in my LIFE! If I could find that man...oh, wait...I'm supposed to be writing a review! That man was FANTASTIC! Oh, and the points made about using profanity and covering your body because it's larger ...OH MY GOODNESS...I could have stood up in the theatre! FANTASTIC!
Here's what I didn't like. There were lots of mean words towards skinny women. Skinny women have nothing to do with anyone being overweight. I think it's unfair to bad mouth them and it's funny, when the skinny women talked about Monique her response was you must hate yourself inside and you disrespect me to make yourself feel good. Now doesn't that work both ways?
This is not a straight comedy! I was not expecting her to break-down in this movie! It was very painful to watch because I have felt like she did many times in my life and no one wants to relive those moments. Maybe it was a good thing though so that people who are not overweight can get an idea of how overweight people may feel.
I applaud Monique for doing her thang. It's an ok movie. |
