I'm guessing I'm the only one - but I totally HATED this movie. Sorry, Scrubs guy! I really wanted to like it, but...I just can't!
The had a "life sucks" flavor and ended like there was a sequel (please don't make a sequel!) It just kind of hung off in the middle of a scene. Okay, I get that (as a writer, as an educated person, as a movie-goer) but it was just a L-O-N-G trip with an "eh" blah ending.
It was this kind of bad: Diet Soda BAD - even after you've left, you still have that yucky "life sucks" taste in your mouth. I guess some people like that (other wise there wouldn't be diet soda) but the overall pointlessness just kind of hangs there for a while.
Maybe that was the point - to reflect the pointless disappointment of life? I don't really feel that way, so I didn't relate. (In case your wondering - I feel like life's more like the crazy cars at the carnival - sometimes its slow and predicable, but then you get slapped around so fast, you can barely hold on and your stomach is in your throat)
THIS IS THE REAL MESSAGE/ POINT OF THIS MOVIE:

And they whipped out the "who-whos" a little too much for me. Not really a date movie - unless your bringing a hooker that wants to try new moves later. Not a movie you want to see with your Mom either - unless your Oedipus. I thought the R rating was a bit tame. Didn't expect that much nudity, but what do I know?
Not too much, since I thought it was gonna be drama with a little bit of humor laced in. Probally thought that b/c of reviews in the paper.
It was like some ones nightmare - no - more like an anxiety attack. A nightmare would have been more interesting. I kept waiting for something horrible to happen to one of them, but it never did. They fight running down stairs, drive like nuts, car accident (with no dent!), and on and on.
Nothing happened, except the guy had an anxiety attack and freaked out. Was that worth $20 and 2 hours? NO! It just didn't go anywhere, and it wasn't artistic enough to just drop off like that - unless they were going for the "life sucks" after-taste. If so, they nailed it.
So, recap:
1. Not a date movie
2. Not funny
3. Don't bring anyone that you wouldn't take to a strip club
4. "Eh" ending
5. Anxiety attack
6. "Life sucks" after-taste, (included at no additional charge)
I'm probably the only one that was so totally let down - but that's okay. If you are a Zach Braff fan - forget Scrubs funniness - and go see for yourself.
