Buckaroo was every teenage nerd's fantasy: rock guitarist, brain surgeon, brilliant inventor, and race car driver.
While raising the teenage fantasy hero to humorous heights, the movie still had enough 3D depth to the characters that they were not cliches.
The villian Dr. Lizardo was so well acted he was a riot to watch. Some of his lines are classics.
The humorous touches through the movie like naming all the aliens the same first name, and putting the alien factory at Grover's Bend were wonderful touches for those who know other sci-fi classics. Even Buckaroo was made humorous by making him so serious he never smiled.
A sci-fi lover who can still laugh at themselves and their own secret fantasies will think this movie is very funny. |
