Ray Liotta is a politically ambitious DA who investigates a homicide committed by his best assistant DA and girlfriend. Liotta goes between the girlfriend and a stranger, LL Cool J, who seems to have a lot of knowledge. Both give very opposite versions of the event which Liotta tries to sort through. This is a movie with way too many plot twists, too many characters who are not what they appear and an ending that you need to think about too much. Despite some talented actors it's not very entertaining, tries too much to be the "Seven", murder mystery with twist, and loses the potential. The first problem is everyone thinks the girlfriend/assistant DA is black when she is obviously not. Second, LL Cool J uses to many lines from his rap songs to be taken seriously. The plot twists are too numerous and extreme for anyone to truly get into this movie. Also, there is too much emphasis on sex, for no apparent reason. Very forgettable movie |
