If you like Jay & Silent Bob, then you have to see this. Sure, the movie is about Dante and Randall, but J&SB play huge roles in this one. And I, for one, really dug it.
The opening scene was great. A great first laugh. The movie then went into full Clerks mode and it was nice to see it again. Dante and Randall were great. It was easy to believe that they haven't changed at all. There were several classic moments, but instead of an in depth conversation on Star Wars movies, there a huge discussion on ATM. The sexual reference not the bank card kind. Then, ... let's just say "inter-racial erotica". I was grimacing (and laughing) several times. There were some truly touching moments, as well.
Whatever you liked about Clerks, Smith seems to have provided it in heaping helpings. I really liked it. Not as good as the original or J&SB Strike Back , but it gives Mallrats a run for it's money. |
