First off, the jerk reviewer who walked out (yelling all the while)was Joel Siegel, not Gene Shalit.
I'm a huge Kevin Smith fan and was honestly a little worried going into this movie after seeing the trailers. They didn't look particularly funny. Let's just say, the trailers didn't do this movie justice.
I won't rehash the movie in this review, because you've heard it all before. Plus, you should go watch it yourself.
This movie reminded me of a mixture of Clerks, Chasing Amy, and a little bit of Jersey Girl. Laughs were plenty, plus it had a bit of the emotional parts of Amy and Jersey Girl.
My favorite moment was the last shot. The beauty of that closing shot gave me goosebumps. Yeah, Kevin Smith gave me goosebumps. That was just the perfect ending to this movie and the lives of the characters that I've grown to love over the past 10 or so years. For that one shot alone, I would gladly pay for the ticket. Thankfully, the rest of the movie was exceptional and will have me running to buy the dvd when it comes out.
So, if you haven't seen this movie yet, get off your butt and go watch it. If you have seen it, you have to agree about the last shot of the movie. Kevin Smith, you are still the man.
