well first off, we will compliment this movie for being better than the second, which we all can be thankful for.

Mission Impossible III was a good movie to kick off the summer, full of action, however lacking the strong and in-depth story the previous missions employed. From the beginning, you can quickly see that this movie has a much different feel to it when compared to the first two, it didnt have quite the same "mission impossible" feel to it, but that doesnt hurt the movie as you might think. The only problem with this movie is that it lacked the story line or even any real form of a story that was included in the first one, things are mentioned in this movie that you want to have more information on and such, but it never comes.

The story, however, does not hold the movie back in any sort of a strong way as it is covered up with a whole lot of action and the occasional comic relief. The visuals and special effects are what they must have spent most of their time with as they were no noticeable flaws on any of these action-packed scenes.

The acting was also suprisingly good for being more of a summer blockbuster type movie. Tom Cruise is a great action hero and portrays Ethan Hunt extremely well. I was also very happy that they brought Ving Rhames back for this movie, playing Luther, because he is always fun to watch. Phillip Seymour Hoffman, coming off his best actor award, showed his skills in this movie as he displayed a strong villain for Cruise to fight.

Overall, this movie is a great popcorn flick to kick off the summer, as it should be a great one with still X3, Pirates 2, and others to come. Great action sequences and superb special effects successfully cover up any missing plot points as Mission Impossible III begins a new feel to the "MI" series.
