Don't believe the haters, they miss the point.

Hard Candy is a witty, sharp and thrilling thriller of a film. For me it shows where films like Hostel and Wolf Creek fall way, way short - their viscious, violent misogyny. Don't read anymore about it, just go see it.
It's thoughtful and exciting and thrilling. At the same time it provides an alternative to the typical little red riding hood storyline of so many films.
I have to point out that one of the reviews on here points out plot inconsistencies like "how did she get a guy standing up." Well he must not have been watching the film because it clearly shows that she used ropes over a beam, ie a pully, to do it. (Note: when you use a pully you decrease the weight you are actually lifting, ie see Physics 101).
It's a good film to watch frat guys squirm to. |
