Infamous is a more glamourized version of 2006's Capote. Many people were confused as to why the film was made so quickly after the 2006 version of Truman Capote's life.
Infamous covers much of the same areas that Capote did in 2006, however many themes that weren't developed in Capote are elaborated on in great detail. Do I think Infamous is better than Capote?..No, but both of the films have some amazing performances and some heartbreaking scenes of honest emotion.
Toby Jones is much more comical than Phillip Seymour Hoffman. The film gives audiences a sense of comic relief in some of the more dramatic scenes. Also, Sandra Bullock was very effective as Harper Lee.
By the end of the film audiences feel pretty much the same way they did at the end of Capote. The dramatic impact is by no means less effective in Infamous as it was in Capote. Both films vividly enter this man's life and fascinate audiences in his motivations for writing his masterpiece, In Cold Blood.
The film was delayed because of the recent release of Capote, but has the same messages in a different style. |
