"Date Movie" is a parody of recent romantic comedies such as "My Big Fat Greek Wedding", "Hitch", "Meet the Parents/Fockers", "The Wedding Planner", and even a breif "Wedding Crashers" parody. You could easily tell that it was from the writers of Scary Movie, the humor in Date Movie is almost identicle to that of Scary Movie. All of the parodies (especially the "Meet the Fockers" spoof) are hillarious and this movie will keep you entertained from beginning to end. This is one of those movies that's so riduculosly bad and over-the-top that it's funny and entertaining. However, you can only really appreciate the jokes in "Date Movie" unless you've seen the movies that it's paroding, so my suggestion is to see all of the romantic comedies I listed above if you haven't already (especially "Hitch", "Meet the Parents", and "Meet the Fockers".) |
