For most American's "Football" it's still pretty much a "mistery". And seeing reviewer's and acclaimed movie critics (by American standards) whom are used to reviewing action or drama's give this movie a C it's a normal thing for them. But they watch this movie as a movie, with absolutely no feeling, no sentiment, nothing, just like an empty vase. Football is beautiful game, full of emotion. And this movie manages to capture all of that emotion in the little screen time that it has. one could write pages on how good this movie is, but it wouldn't help you, the reader, at all. you have to see it for youself in order to live the intense emotions that the movie creates, just as you would have to go to a real football match in order to live the excitement of the "beautiful game".
Kuno Becker is a very believable character, even if some of the dialogue is simplistic and corny at times, but that is who most football players are, simple people who have a deep pashion for the game. Marcel Iures, does a terrific jos as Newcastles Manager, showing once again his ability of a great European actor. The rest of the cast is magnificent, and i couldn't have picked a better one myself.
Overall, Goal it's a beautiful movie, that will touch the heart of almost anyone. |
