"Water" is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. It's so disappointing to see negative reviews, mostly by people of India (on other sites). They seem to be either embarrassed by this movie, or would rather brush the dirt under the rug than talking about it. Also all those who say this director should've or could've done something different should think that she is doing something different. She's taking the cheesy Bollywood to the next level, creating something that stays with you. Most Bollywood movies are 90% entertainment and 10% content. This one is 100% content that keeps you interested (and entertained in a way) throughout. Some don't like the historical accuracy of this movie. This is a fiction and a great one for that matter. It's so much better than cheap Bollywood with a lot of bad dance routines and guys chasing girls in the woods. I'd be more embarrassed by those movies if I were Indian.
This movie is a must see. The characters are perfect, every single one of them. The little girl does an outstanding job. Well done. |
