This was a great movie. It unfortunately depicts the reality of the happenings in India during those times. Even now, conditions are not the best for the less wealthy widows that exist there. It's so sad to see, but necessary to educate the world that not everything in other countries is perfume and roses. Exposure to good and bad aspects is important to understanding a culture. This movie is banned in India - I think actions like that hold back the country's progression. Movies like this one get people thinking and stir up emotions - things that lead to change and forward progression. I truly enjoyed it and really think that it is well worth your time. |
