As a Christian and a minister, I will admit that I was torn over going to see this movie. I had that ever present trepidation that the film would mock more than uplift Christianity, but I need not have worried. This movie was hilarious! I enjoyed myself from beginning to end. I must say that I would encourage anyone to go and watch this movie. Bruce Almighty was a movie that while the message was good it was lost amongst the overacting and the sexual innuendos of its characters. Not so with this movie. It was wholesome and I did in fact walk out with a HUGE smile on my face. And for those of you who call this movie "blasphemy" I would encourage you to look up the definition of that word before you throw it around and you will notice that this movie isn't like that, and I would also encourage you to laugh more and stop making Christianity so boring and coldhearted, because I'm sure that God gets a nice little chuckle Himself.
Go and watch the movie! I'm taking the kids from my ministry to go and see it just so I have an excuse to watch again. |
