I loved this. Flat out. The way that the tool of narration is used is amazing. The development of Will Ferrell and Maggie Gyllenhal make you want them to win, you want them to survive and defeat all odds. Overall, didn't expect to love the movie and would go back again and pay the $10 to see it. Although, if you are expecting 'Will Ferrell comedy' you will be in for a rude awakening since the comedy is more subtle and sarcastic. Another thing, all of the trailer clips are within the first 20-30 minutes of the film, don't give up on it. It is slow to start but I believe the director intentionally did that, as with a book, provided a lot of description. Great movie. |
