Our local newspaper was giving away free movie tickets to an advanced screening of Stranger Than Fiction starring Will Ferrell . So I went to go see it with Chuck, my mom and my brother.
None of us had really any idea of what the movie was about, other than there is a guy who hears a voice that is narrating his life. So we went into the movie with pretty open minds.
I am telling you, go see this movie. It was SUCH a good movie. I laughed, I cried, I wished it was longer.
Honestly, I think this movie should win an award. It was that good. I loved seeing Will Ferrell play a serious role. I thought Maggie Gyllenhal (I am sure I *****ed up that spelling) was adorable and great in her role. I have never seen her act before and was pleasantly suprised with her acting skills. Dustin Hoffman was great and so was the chick who played the author (I don't know who the actress is).
Go see it. It was so much better than Borat or Saw 3 (the other two movies I have seen in the past couple weeks). It was one of those movies that you really don't expect to be anything more than Will Ferrell being his usual goofy self. But it was such a different movie than his regular ones that you will be happy you saw it. |
