As usual this romantic comedy has a pretty poor premises: 35 year old man with six pack and a tan still living with his parents (who want him gone), of course there is a Sarah Jessica Parker out there that just happens to specialize in this sort of problem. Naturally even though money has changed hands Bongos and Clairol fall for each other while friends watch via 27 conveniently placed web cams. Creepy. Anyway, this would be a complete waste of celluloid if it wasn't for the supporting cast and rather laughable CGI animals. Will from Alias makes an appearance, for all you spy freaks out there, and Kathy Bates is under used yet again. They managed to provide some passable laughs even though the previously mentioned Mr. Bradshaw managed to wipe most of them from my mind. Ultimately I would have given this movie a D but out of all the movies opening this weekend (and I have seen them) this is the only one that deserves to make any box office. For those of you going to the multiplex this weekend good luck, and may whatever you believe in be with you. |
