I sat through the whole movie, wondering if Jodie as the heroine would get her comeuppance at the end.
A lone woman grieving for the love of her life, enraged by his senseless murder at the hands of men portrayed as nothing more than violent animals, discovers that killing becomes easier and easier. We know that she is at least honest enough to try to turn herself in, and human enough to change her mind. She is conflicted, almost pushed into her first shooting, but the horror of death doesn't stop her from killing again. Everything about her, looks, radio voice, outlook, almost seems to point toward the person she becomes.
I liked the ending, because I believe we are all afraid of the violent aspect of life, and wish we could find a way to conquer the evil without paying the price of mealy-mouthed justice.
This is a thought-provoking movie, so go and see it. |
