I was dragged to a midnight screening and expected to hate it because I didn't like the trailer and hated the poster. That'll teach me to judge a book by its cover.
There are a couple of problems with the plot, but otherwise it's a very good, well-made film. Jodie Foster reminds us why she's one of the best actors of her generation. Terrence Howard is no slouch in the acting department either.
Visually, it is incredible,so much so that NYC itself is one of the main characters.
My particular audience seemed to relish the um vigilante justice parts, but surprisingly the violence is not that bad. I was expecting far worse from the reviews.
Overall, definitely worth the $10 for the movie. You won't be disappointed. |
