Too much for my fellow Americans?

Tideland riveted my attention to the screen for 2 hours. Not since Mulholland Drive has a movie done that. Well, maybe The Incredibles or Kung-Fu Hustle...
It is savage, ruthless, jarring and in the long run, hopeful. While kids are not indestructible, they can be tough as nails. Fantasy does serve a purpose, as does this film. Cullem's novel and Gilliam's adaption, with co-writer Grisoni, will live well in the long run, which is the true test. Maybe we're a buch of sissies inthis country anymore. |
