Don Quixote (of sorts) on an Indian...
This is one of, if not the, most ENJOYABLE movie I've seen in a long time.* I mean it's not perfect- there are some scenes that seem forced and gratuitous, but overall just a great, heartwarming story that you can go to with no expectations (WITH ANYONE), put your brain in neutral, and feel that it was 8 or 10 bucks well spent.
Basically it's your classic - lovable, poor schmuck underdog, overcoming impossible odds and believable if improbable adversity, to achieive HIS DREAM.
From a remote town in New Zealand that Mick Jagger called the "a$$hole of the world" when they toured there in '65, we find a guy that lives in his garage who is obsessed with his 20's vintage Indian motorcycle and breaking the land speed record in Bonneville Flats with it. Yeah right.
