I wanted more about the motorcycle....

There are literally millions of motorcyle owners in the U.S. - a natural audience for this film. So, do they tell us how this old codger built this incredibly fast motorcycle? Not really. Instead, they junk up the story with the usual cast of Hollywood cliches: the hooker, the transvestite, the roadside floozy. And do audiences really EVER need to see another shot of men urinating on the ground? What is it with this scene? It isn't funny! Why do screenwriters keep putting it in? Is this some sort of male bonding experience? Good grief! Anthony Hopkins is, as usual, extremely good and even though I cringed through some of the more stupid scenes, I liked the film overall and would recommend it. I just wanted more of the motorcycle and less of the black guy in drag. |
