Take the lead starring Antonio Banderas as a ball room dance teacher for troubled kids in a pretty much all black school is a recipe for an interesting film. The story is just that, Mr. Dulaine (Banderas) goes to the school and is given a non-paid position to teach the kids in detention ball room dancing. Of course this is met with much opposition, but they end up doing what they are told. They quickly learn the techniques and are pumped to go to a competition where they can win $5000. All of the kids seem to come from troubled homes and this adds lots of side plots to the story. But the main focus seems to be the dancing. I found the story to be very jumpy at times. It is an hour and 50 some minutes long as it is, but at times, it seems they ended a scene before it was over. Especially the end. Nothing really evolves in the end you it kinda leaves you hanging. Overall its an ok movie. One you may want to wait for DVD. B-
