This movie brings what anyone that has played the game what they have been wanting...gore, suspence, and a demented plot. But for those who haven't played the game will realize that Silent Hill only brings alot of conufsion.
The movie starts off with action and what seems to forsee what the movie is all about...a walk in hell and no way comming back. As the story progresses so does the suspence but thats not enough to satisfy a movie goer that has not played the game. What the movie goer feels is missing from the movie were the characters' backgrounds. All we know is that Rose(the main character) wants to help her daughter over come her sleep walking habits by taking her to the place she calls out for in her dreams...Silent hill. While in the midst she neglects her husband and takes thier daughter without his concent and drags a cop with her. Thats basically all we know about the main characters. The rest of the movie revolves around the town and why everyone is drawn to it. So you can say the main character, instead of the actors, is the town. But like I was saying before the average movie goer wont know that untill the end or until they are told.
I liked this movie because I played the game. You remember alot of the locations from the game was directly imported. I also like to point out that the music was too, and that the music was what made the game so famous. I also liked the way they involed the monsters. From sreaming retard babies to a Giant Knife wielding guy with a piramid for a head. All the grusome monsters that I cringed over in the game are here but much more convincing than the game. I witness a few people in the audience couldn't belive what they were seeing. I spoke to one of them and they said "I almost walked out I was so scared but I was forced to see the rest." Damn thats what I call visuals.
I hope that there will be a second because movie goers will need more explination to what happened to this poor little town call Silent hill. |
