Factotum is able to do something that Leaving Las Vegas couldn't (or wouldn't) and that is give us something to laugh about in the middle of a real human mess. Factotum is not as good a movie as Leaving Las Vegas, but it is an interesting look at a talented, charming and functional alcoholic just trying to numb the pain of a life compromised by his underachieving talents. Well acted, especially by Matt Dillon, and worth a look. |
