In the 80s, it was Fast Times at Ridgemont High. In the 90s, it was American Pie. In the first decade of the new milennium, it'll be interesting to see what film will fill that role.
Looking at the trailer, this movie shows promise. It looks hilarious and the film taps into the usual adolescent insecurities. This time, though, it does so in the context of porn, which exploded in the 90s and is more abundant with teens today than any generation beforehand. The only problem is, there's one glaring hole in the plot: who needs to rent adult films these days? There's so much of it on the internet.
The movie looks good, but the plot seems dated. |
