serious lack of good script ideas

Maybe I grew spoiled by the first two Shreks, but then again, I paid to see the third just to be entertained at least same as before!
And what did I get in return? The modern witty fairy tale finished, now the depiction of everyday problems takes place, along with hard-to-deal-with teenagers and horrors of being a young papa. Brrr!
I wish I could tell the creators: "Hey, guys, I can see this stuff in my everyday life, why would I need to see it in a supposedly "comic" cartoon? it just ain't funny."
I completely agree with the critic who said Shrek 3 was stale. Sadly.
But maybe I'm just being bitter, having anticipaded "I-don't-know-what". There is a couple of funny jokes, it's just that the movie lacks the panache of the two previous parts, and has a serious lack of good script ideas.
Anyway, go make your own opinion :)
In my experience, people enjoy better the movies they've heard trashed by others. You may call it the spirit of contradiction, or maybe it diminishes their expectations.
It's a pity nobody told me BEFORE I went to see Shrek 3. I might've enjoyed it (???) :)
