Why open in Europe first?

Why did this film open in the UK before it opened in America?
This is the answer. The paedo subplot and the fact that pre-teen kids are sworn at and constantly threatened with violence. The menace directed towards these minors is unusual for a film and that is why Running Scared has an 18 certificate in my opinion. Rest assured. Nothing bad actually happens to the kids but it happens all around them. It's just a trick to keep you involved with the story.
Although this is an American film, it has a very strong European feel to it. The amazing thing is that the plot remains coherent throughout. |
