Initially, I was very impressed with the movie I had seen, but came away believing that the main characters who did exist were portrayed as they were in the book it was based on. The main character, Avner, in whose eyes we see all events and his reaction to them, is presented as a man full of doubts as to the morality of his revenge. This puts a profound spin on the story, as it tries to criticize Israel's attttitude of striking back at terrorists when necessary. But the book clearly states that the real Avner was not morally challenged by the rightness of his mission, and this undermines the "point" the film tries to make. Ultimately, the heart and soul film is false, and merely stating "inspired by true events" does not change that. And so this finely made film is a great dissappointment.
