If your idea of a great film is shoot-em-up or robotic special effects, this is not your film. If, however, you care about the relationships beteween human in time of crisis, see Mrs. Henderson Presents.
Not only do Judi Dench, Bob Hoskins and their supporting cast offer a slice of life that rings totally true, their interaction during World War II in London easily takes one there. Everything, from the acting, the story, lighting, direction, is extraordinary. And the music: it's singable! Definitely a film for grownups. |
